About us

What we aim to provide for the customers

Our main aim as a proper farm shop is to provide top quality home grown and local produce.

We grow as much produce as we can on the farm and compliment this home grown produce with the best from the local areas ensuring all are of a high quality and from as near as possible.

History of Farndon Fields Farm

Farndon Fields Farm originally grew potatoes and vegetables in 1983 and sold them from the farmhouse garage. This later became our farm shop and we bought in fresh fruit and salad to compliment our home grown produce. As we have got busier over the years we have been adding to the range of products to include preserves, chutneys, cookies, and local honey.

In 1998 we opened a purpose-built farm shop giving us more room to accommodate a larger range of truly top quality produce and an even better service to our customers. This allowed us to stock local meats, English cheeses and locally baked bread. Behind the farm shop, we opened a plant centre offering a large selection of plants, terracotta pots and compost.

In 2005 we opened a large extension on the shop which houses our new butchery and cafe and allows more room for even more products and some much needed storeroom space in order for us to keep the shelves fully stocked. We also increased the capacity of the car park and developed the plant centre to make it a larger area for more stock and large pot displays.

We continue to grow potatoes, vegetables and soft fruit for the shop on our 550 acre farm, with produce being harvested daily for the shop.

In 2008 we won the FARMA Farm Retailer of the Year Award for being the best farm shop in the UK: http://www.farmshopping.net/farm-shop-of-the-year-Farndon-Fields.htm.
